**COMMITMENT TO THE PURPOSE OF YOUR LIFE**
A dynamic 200 hour teaching immersion for those who feel that teaching yoga is your calling. Six months of regular practice is required for entry into either fall program.  If you have been practicing less than that, but with intense commitment to practice, I am open to discussion on this requirement. This training is also open to those who want to deepen their practice, but will have a heavy focus on practice teaching and all of the following listed below. Learn how to be, not only of great service to yourself, but to the rest of the world.  The teacher training is conducted in weekend format (for the Maine trainings) and in one night during the week and every other weekend for MA trainings.  For the MA training, the schedule will be published in the next few weeks.  Keep checking back.  The Maine training goes from October 2012-March 2013 (with snow dates, if necessary, that spread into April.)  Each program I offer gives breathing room for time for reading and spending time with your partners/children/family.  The fall MA training program will be at the Canton Yoga Shala in Canton, MA and the Maine training will be split between half the program at Greener Postures Yoga in Portland, ME and half the program at the Portland Wyndham Hotel  in South Portland, ME.

For more information on my background, you can read my biography or call me personally to chat.  (For the MA program ONLY you can learn more about co-teacher Jene` Rossi at: www.jenerossi.com)   If you'd like to talk about my programs or need references my phone number is on the contact page of this website and I can get them for you. This training will produce intelligent, connected, compassionate, nurturing, powerful and confident teachers well versed in history, philosophy, spirituality, anatomy, energy, safe sequencing, how to sequence for specific injury, etc. Please sit with your desire to do this program if all of this speaks to you. Take the time to see if you can make this commitment whole-heartedly.  I will only take a limited number of students for both of these training.

Both the MA & Maine trainings will include intense study of: asana (postures), pranayama, chanting, mantra, meditation and other traditional yoga techniques. Analytical training in how to teach and practice the yoga techniques through practice and guided practice will be included. Principles of demonstration, observation, assisting, and instruction will also be a heavy focus. We will explore various styles of yoga, the qualities of a teacher, the business aspect of yoga and the student experience. Human physical anatomy and physiology (bodily systems, organs, etc.,) energetic anatomy and physiology (chakras, nadis, etc.) will be an intense part of this training. All benefits, contraindications and healthy movement patterns will be explored, as well as injury and modifications. Yoga philosophy, yoga lifestyle and ethics for yoga teachers will be also be addressed. You will spend a significant amount of time practice teaching, receiving feedback, observing other teaching  and hearing/giving feedback. You will spend time assisting in the training and in class. You will also have a requirement of non-contact hours of book reports, observing15 classes inside & outside the training as well as assisting 5 yoga classes.  Reading will be a big piece of your self study. In order to become a powerful, well-equipped teacher, you MUST be dedicated to your training, your practice, your reading & your study.  These programs are designed in a way that most of your training requirements are met within the program!  This program meets the Yoga Alliance (based in Pennsylvania) requirements to be 200 hour certified under them as a Registered Yoga Teacher.  It is an optional certification.  Most states do not require certification to teach but require that teachers have 200 hrs of study in the field.  Some gyms and other corporations in MA & ME require YA certification.

TIMES & DATES FOR THE Oct 2012-Mar 2013 TRAINING PROGRAM w/ ME & GREENER POSTURES  in S. Portland, Maine

*

The first part of the this training will be held at the South Portland Wyndam Hotel .  The second half of the training (when all trainees are ready to teach to the public) will be held at Greener Postures Yoga Studio in South Portland.  I needed a space that was roughly 1300-1700 sq ft for the first part of training.  The Wyndham has GREAT space and they are currently undergoing renovations which will make the hotel even better.  And of course, no better place to strengthen your teaching wingspan than the beloved Greener Postures!  I feel blessed to do a Maine training again.  Over 99% of my last Maine teacher training students are all teaching and making the Maine community healthy and strong!  Dates and times (which are in parentheses) for the fall training are below.  This training will sell out!  Set aside the dates now and get your spot.
