by Harold S. Kushner
--"How God Changes Your Brain" by Andrew Newborg
**RECOMMENDED WEBSITES:--www.yogareachesout.org This website is for the YogaThon I will be teaching
at on September 19th at Foxboro Stadium. Join me and a slew of other great Boston yoga teachers...in addition to Ana
Forrest and Wade Morrisette. You can go online and register for the event for Children's Hospital. **RECOMMENDED MUSIC:
--"In Rainbows" by Radiohead
--"At
Folsom Prison" by Johnny Cash
**RECOMMENDED
RESTAURANTS:
--The "PRANA CAFE" in Newton 2 doors down from Prana Power Yoga in Newton is open for dinner now--I
HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!! I call Taylor's recipes the organic version of my great grandmother--very good, nurturing,
made with love food like my great grandma used to make--but my grandma's recipes certainly were not raw--they were hard core
italian!! Both very nurturing in their own way! **RECOMMENDED MEDITATION:
--Sit in comfortable seated position with your palms facing up towards
the sun. Similar to alternate nostril breathing, this is alternate hand breathing. Hands are extensions of heart energy. The
yoga sutras tell us that our greatest consciousness lies in our heart, and at our heart center
(chpt. 3) Inhale through your left palm, holding your breath at your heart center for 3-7 breaths and exhale through your
right palm. Inhale through your right palm, hold at your heart, and exhale through your left. Repeat this for as long as you
possible can. When your heart has breathing room, this allows for you to become a much more tolerant, compassionate,
patient and loving person. Our society needs this kind of balance more than ever and needs more people to be operating
from this kind of place.
